Afrikiko Spice wants a licence for alcohol, music, TV sport and takeaway at 8 High Town Road, open to 2:30am at weekends. Comments to Luton Council by 30 October.
Afrikiko Spice Limited has applied to Luton Borough Council for a premises licence for the ground floor of 8 High Town Road. If it is granted, the venue could sell alcohol until 01:30 on Friday and Saturday nights, serve hot food and drink, including takeaway, until 02:00, and stay open to the public until 02:30.
The notice is dated 2 October 2026. Anyone who wants to comment has until Friday 30 October to put it in writing to the council’s licensing team.
Corrected 3 October: the applicant has supplied an updated notice. The comment deadline is now 30 October, not 29 October, and late night refreshment now covers outdoors and takeaway as well as indoors, with longer hours.
This is a new licence, not a change to an existing one.
What the licence would cover
If granted, the licence would allow, indoors:
- the sale of alcohol for drinking on the premises
- recorded music
- indoor sporting events, which the notice says means televised sport only
It would also allow late night refreshment, meaning hot food or hot drink served after 23:00, indoors and outdoors, including takeaway.
The notice says no seasonal or additional non-standard hours are being asked for.
